A massive congratulation goes to WENDY ANDERSON in her final outdoor season & KHALILA HUSSAIN who became COUNTY PAIRS CHAMPIONS for 2024 at Devizes BC on Sunday 4th AUGUST when they comprehensively beat Claire and Jayne Edwards 26-7.

By Being COUNTY PAIRS CHAMPIONS they represented WILTSHIRE at ENGLAND's
NATIONAL  BOWLS CHAMPIONSHIP held at Leamington. In the first round they were victorious against Mary Banks & Alison Hall of Hatfield BC Hertfordshire. In Round 2 they came up against England International Rebecca Wigfield and Sian Hughes-Jones from Desborough Town BC, Northamptonshire who were just to strong for the Stratton pair.

Mens National Competitions

In the National Mens Pairs competition it was a case of so near yet not quite for James Bryant and Graham Strevens.

They lost out in the County Semi-final just that one step away from Leamington. Having reached the last 8, a big achievement, they overcame S.Fivash of Avon 21-12 to make it to the Semi-Final where they were beaten by M.Snell and A.Blake of Royal Wootton Bassett 21-11 who went on to represent WILTSHIRE at the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Wilts County Competitions

Congratulations to Ian Gough, James Bryant and Graham Strevens on Winning the Final of the Officers Triples Mixed County Competition against the 2023 holders Rodbourne Cheney at Devizes on 8th September.
After a great start which say Stratton winning comfortably, Rodbourne Cheney gradually got back into the match and drew level with 1 end to play.

On the last end Rodbourne Cheney were holding two, when Ian trailed the jack into the ditch and his wood sat right next to the jack for the winning shot.
