SOME THOUGHTS ON BEING PLEASANT TO YOUR OPPOSITION
-
If you must wave bowls through the head then only wave at your own and not the opposition
-
When the END is completed and you know you have the shot do not remove the bowl yourself, let the opposition remove it
-
You are on the mat and your bowl has come to rest, this is not the time to ask the SKIP questions about the position of your bowl. Wait until the next time you have possession of the mat and then ask.
-
When you are playing a Team game you should ask the SKIP for permission if you wish to bring the mat up the rink.
-
Make sure that if you follow your bowl up the green you reach the head before your bowl comes to rest.
-
Stand behind the head of the mat when other people are about to bowl.
-
Enter the Mat from the Left and Leave by the Right.
-
Pick Up the mat for your opponent if they bowl the last wood
-
All players should help to kick the bowls back when the end is completed.
-
Do not Clap the oppositions mishaps – example: if your bowl is knocked into the head by the opposition.
-
Place you SKIPS bowl on the mat if it’s their turn to play when you are leaving to walk up to the head.
MOST OF ALL HAPPY BOWLING
