S&D competitions
Congratulations to Khalila Hussen who won the Ladies Champion of Champions beating Chris Mitchell of Purton. The first half of the game was very close but as the match progressed Khalila slowly pulled away to victory.
Congratulations to Anthea Cawte and Jackie Pearce on winning the Ladies Pairs against Ann Haunton and Linda Perfitt of Westlecot. The Stratton Pair were always in control of the match but did have a stutter in the final few ends which gave the Westlecot pair some hope. The match was sealed on the penultimate end by gaining 3 shots.
Commiserations to James Bryant in the Mens Champion of Champions who was beaten by Kyle Anderson.
Stratton members continued to have to a successful on day 2 of the S&D Finals.
James Bryant put yesterday's defeat behind him to win the Men's Officers Cup defeating Mark Richman of Westlecot. There was not much between the two players to begin with before James was able to gain a commanding lead and eventually won 21-13.
In the Ladies Over 60 pairs Janet Willis & Wendy Anderson won by beating Chris Mitchell and Sue Crouch of Purton. The game was a very tight affair with lead changing a number of times. The match had the Stratton Pair going into the final end holding a 2 shot lead and were able to keep the end tight finally winning by one shot.
Unfortunately, the mixed rink skipped by Lloyd Pearce including Arron Davis, Anthea Cawte, Jackie Pearce, were unable to gain the upper hand in the match and were always behind before were finally beaten the Supermarine Rink by 7 shots.
